There was a change in oil pricing that affected one of the Soviet Union's main sources of hard currency. As usual Celente reheated other people's predictions and then tried to write them out of the narrative. The Economist magazine, among others was 10 months ahead of him in the prediction. Numerous others predicted it before him. He claimed to be the first to predict the real escape bubble. Funny then his actual writings at the time mysteriously never mentioned it. His website is notorious for retrospective editing in which his many wrong predictions mysteriously disappear or are rewritten to suggest he made a prediction that he hadn't actually made. Celente is famous for comically getting things wrong, for failing to predict some obvious developments, and for 'predicting' things that experts had already predicted months earlier. We will continue to flock North in pursuit of better value while our economic illiterates continue to ignore the high costs of doing business on this side of the border.
Considering the u-turn on top civil servants pay it is something that has not changed. The only difference I see is the protectionism. Tattooing seems to be a symptom of the Celtic Tiger era, will we see tattoo removal clinics opening in the next couple of years.
